One thing’s for sure: balls leave the park a lot more frequently at Tokyo Dome than they do at Koshien Stadium. Coming into this one, Hanshin already had three. After this one was done, they added a couple more to the total.
Starting Pitchers: Takumi Akiyama (12-6, 3.01 ERA) vs. Ryoma Nogami (11-10, 3.63 ERA)

For the third consecutive game, we went yard early. This time it was Ryutaro Umeno‘s turn to hit one into the right field stands.

Up until this point, our #3, 5, 6 and 8 batters got home runs. Time for the #4 batter, the one whose chant has the word “home run” in it, to deliver as well! Wilin Rosario, take a bow.

Unfortunately, Akiyama walked one, and then saw a Guerrero “hit” (which should have been an out, or at least an error) put two men on base. And the same guy who hit a 3-run bomb yesterday, Okamoto, did it again today.

And that was it. The Giants relievers are pretty strong – two straight days of solid work from them, without using Canadian Scott Mathieson. For the record, Akiyama’s line was: 6 IP, 110 TP, 5 H, 3 BB (unusual for him), 8 K, 3 R. Tsuyoshi Ishizaki threw two shutout innings in relief.
