Anyone who has been a Hanshin Tigers fan in recent years knows that Yokohama Stadium is like our home away from home. (In the past five seasons, the Baystars were 170W 110L = .607 at home against the other 10 NPB teams, but just 18W 39L = .315 against Hanshin.) The trend continued on Friday night, as a wildly effective Shintaro Fujinami (198 cm 100 kg) went 7 innings (walking 5 but allowing just 4 hits while striking out 7), and Teruaki Sato (187 cm 94 kg) hit a ball clear out of the park, which basically told the Baystars that their lives against the Tigers aren’t going to get any easier for years to come.
