It’s that time of year again, everyone! We’re about two weeks from the beginning of another season of baseball! As we have done each of the past few years, we would like to extend an invitation to you, to send us an audio file of your predictions for the upcoming season. The person who predicts the standings exactly right will win a prize package from H-TEN (to be announced, but guaranteed to be excellent)!
Here are the rules:
1) Introduce yourself and where you are sending from (country, city if you want), and give us a run-down of your prediction for the Central League standings from sixth through first. Include reasons or comments if you want, but keep your recording under two minutes long, please. Also, as a tiebreaker, predict which foreigner (Jefry Marte, Jerry Sands, Mel Rojas Jr) will get the most home runs this season, and how many!
2) Send the mp3 (or another easily playable file extension) to thehanshintigers@gmail.com no later than March 22, 2021, 11:59 pm JST. Text predictions are also acceptable but way less cool.
3) Listen to the show (which is coming out a few days before Opening Day) and share it on your social media, and hashtag #HTEN!
Prizes will be sent out at season’s end if someone gets lucky and predicts the standings perfectly. You will be contacted by H-TEN after Game 143 and lavished with praises and prizes!
Send your questions to us by email as well, if you have any. Looking forward to hearing from all of you!
Your use of audio podcasts and this contest are not suitable for your deaf readers. Can you be barrier-free and include transcripts for these things?
Thanks for your comment. To be honest, I was not even aware that I had deaf readers. Unfortunately it takes all of my free time to create the content that I do, and at present I am unable to include transcripts of the podcast. If I were to upload them to YouTube would that work? The auto-subtitles on there???
Deaf people like baseball and Hanshin, too. Are you aware of the Law to Eliminate Discrimination against People with Disabilities (2016) and the Revised Barrier-Free Law (2020)?
If you’d like to exchange ideas about making this site better for deaf people, please drop me an email. I’d love to discuss this with you further
