Should I continue to just pin the blame on the umpires for the Tigers’ losses during interleague? As long as the umps call balls strikes in crucial situations (like two Jefry Marte walks turned into strikeouts), giving Buffaloes’ starter Taisuke Yamaoka liberty to widen the strike zone all night… I reserve the right to do so. Yuki Nishi threw well against his old mates, and the Tigers had a huge chance to give him a shot at the win, but could not push across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Hanshin’s second error of the night burnt them, as the Buffaloes deposited a couple of hits in no-man’s land in the eighth.
