What to say. This was a true pitching gem by starter Yuki Nishi. He dissected the powerful Giants order all night, and made just one mistake on an 0-2 count… his pitch missed Umeno’s glove by maybe 6″ and was in the bottom of the strike zone, enough for Takumi Ohshiro to push it through the left side of the infield for an RBI. Meanwhile, our best chances to score came on a ball that was two feet from being a home run, plus the one time we got a runner in scoring position. Yeah, hard to win games like that. The result is that Yuki Nishi will have to wait until August to get career win #100. The lead is now down to just 1.5 games, as well. Finish strong, men!
