Now, don’t get me wrong. You don’t win games in which you do not score. This is a universal truth in sports. So it is not entirely our starter Yuki Nishi’s fault that we lost. However, he has definitely looked like a shell of his former self ever since he got career win #99 over two months ago. He has now allowed five runs in each of his last two starts, and a couple of mounds before that, he gave up seven. That, plus the typical Hanshin fumbly bumbly defense at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, plus the umps making some pretty bad calls, made this one a painful viewing experience. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day…
