Nothing went well for the Tigers on this night, outside of the bottom of the fifth inning. The pitchers gave up a season-worst 17 hits to the worst-hitting team in the Central in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the Central. Many of the defenders, though not charged with errors, did not make plays that needed to be made. The result: Hanshin has its first four-game losing streak of the year, and ends the month of August with a 7-9 record, with all games being played against teams with losing records. Here’s a strange fact for you, though. Since the Swallows also lost, and our win percentages were so close together, the Tigers actually moved up into second place tonight!
