Through the top of the sixth, this one looked really lopsided, as though the Tigers were going to simply bow down to the Giants yet again… but somebody turned off the orange light and flipped on the yellow switch. Yuki Nishi missed his spot a few times in the middle innings, putting the team down 0-3. It did not help that the batters did not reach base a single time in those first five innings. Then Yusuke Ohyama reached base. Then his next time up, in the seventh, he tied the game with a clutch double. His partner on the left side of the infield, Takumu Nakano took a high pitch for a nice, long ride to give the Tigers the lead. His final time up, he gave the team an insurance run. And for the first time in what feels like ages (but probably is not much more than a day or two), the bullpen was rock-solid. Season series tied at 8 apiece, and the top of the standings again look weird, what with the Tigers behind by -0.5 games. But hey, we beat the Giants! Let’s do it all over again tomorrow!
