Coming from behind to win games feels good, but falling behind early game in and game out, well, does not feel so good. Once again, the Tigers’ starter – in this case, Masashi Itoh – surrendered three runs in the game’s first three innings… and our bats only really came to life in the fifth and beyond. Whatever the reason for that, once again some clutch hitting from our power bats (Mel Rojas Jr and Yusuke Ohyama), plus some really good relief pitching (shutout innings from Ippei Ogawa, Masaki Oyokawa, Suguru Iwazaki and Robert Suarez), got us a much-needed win. The Giants lost, which means the lead is a bit bigger than it was 24 hours ago. The rubber match on Thursday features the long-awaited return of Haruto Takahashi to the mound.
