After a rough last outing (2 innings, 5 runs), Takumi Akiyama had something to prove. And prove it, he did. His lone base runner through six was a hit batsman, and until the solo home run he gave up in the seventh, he faced the minimum number of batters. He could have easily gone out for the 8th, having only thrown 80 pitches, but instead our solid duo of Suguru Iwazaki and Robert Suarez each worked around a single, and closed the game out with ease. Meanwhile, Jefry Marte hit a monstrous bomb to give the Tigers the lead, and Yoshio Itoi finally stole career base #300 late in the game as well. This game was an easy one to watch! Oh, and the Giants lost once again!
