Looking at the starting lineup before the game started, and seeing that the opposing pitcher had a 1.99 ERA against our guys this season, well, let’s just say most fans were not inspired with confidence. But three batters into our attack, the blowout was on. Koyo Aoyagi threw seven effective innings (3 hits, 4 walks, 0 runs) and hit a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth. He also now leads the Central in wins with a career-best 13! Three hitters – Kairi Shimada, Takumu Nakano and Seiya Kinami – got three hits or more, and Koji Chikamoto reached double-digits in home runs for the first time in his career. It was a splendid blowout in a must-win game. Now win again tomorrow night, boys!
I was pretty drunk at the game by this point, but didn’t I see Sato hit a triple? You didn’t mention.
You might have dreamt it but he struck out. Shimada hit an RBI double that saw him advance to third on an error. Shimada is significantly smaller than Sato… must have been pretty blurry-eyed by that point!!!
yep, would have been Shimada then. I had actually looked away for a moment and only turned to see him coming into 3rd base
