Weeknights simply have not brought out the best in our bats. For the 15th time this season (11 in night games), the Tigers have ended a game with no runs to show for their 27 outs (or more in the case of 2 games) at the plate. On this night, the team struggled to get the ball past the infielders… sometimes because of great plays, other times because of weak contact. Aaron Wilkerson was named the CL Pitcher of the Month for May earlier today, but for the second straight start in June, he did not last into the second half of the game. All in all, the team still has a dire need for clutch hitting if it wants to climb out of the cellar. The silver lining in this game was that Kyle Keller got his first top-squad mound since late March, and though he surrendered an infield single, he struck out the side and looked sharp.
