Yes, you read that headline correctly… only you can erase the question mark from the end. We’re simply in disbelief is all. As can be expected, these games were pitchers’ duels for the most part. The odd thing is that home runs dictated the final score in two of the three games, despite the dome being the least generous ballpark in Japan. We would like to once again highlight the following wonderful things about Sunday’s win. Hiroto Saiki earned his first win since 2019. Yusuke Ohyama bashed his 100th career home run to center, giving us the lead. Koji Chikamoto collected a hit in his third at-bat, giving him a streak of 29 games (second-most in team history behind Matt Murton‘s 30 in 2011). The Dragons are now tied with the Tigers for most shutout losses this season (15). Enjoy Sunday night and Monday, Hanshin Tigers fans. We still have a long way to go but for now, everything feels good!
Why are the games played at Yakult’s stadium not televised on cable or regular TV? This seems to be the only team with such blockage.
Good question. I am honestly not sure. It is not always the case but for some reason, I know at least tonight’s game is not being broadcast here in Kansai. Last night the game was supposed to be shown but because of the news covering Abe-san’s assassination, pretty much all TV was focused on that story. Game got bumped.
