I could just copy and paste any of my Nagoya series recaps from the past 8 years and you would hardly know the difference. Our team simply does not perform well at Vantelin Dome Nagoya. Our pitchers are fine, but our hitters struggle to put up multiple runs. That being the case, winning games is really hard. Koyo Aoyagi is off to an uncharacteristically slow start. Shoki Murakami has continued to impress. Hiroto Saiki was alright but also not his usual self. And the hitters? Well, let’s just say that if the goal was to get guys on base, we might have been alright. Bringing them home continued to be a challenge, as did hitting home runs: Koji Chikamoto‘s solo blast on Sunday was our first in six games and just the sixth overall. Here’s to hoping the bats come to life as we host the Yomiuri Giants early next week.
