The end of the pandemic (for all intents and purposes) means not only cheering at baseball games, but also the return of countryside-hosted games! The Tigers headed to Toyohashi on Tuesday, where the Dragons hosted them and allowed 9 runs. Seems like the Tigers would fare much better there than at hollow, cavernous Vantelin Dome. And yet, somehow, the team got great pitching from Yuki Nishi on Wednesday (along with enough hitting to win). To cap things off, the Tigers stormed to an early 4-0 lead on Thursday, giving Masashi Itoh a relatively stress-free start. All in all, I am beside myself… I cannot remember the Tigers ever sweeping a 3-game series on the road against the Dragons. The winning streak has reached 7!
