Coming off a three-game sweep of the Dragons on the road, the Tigers returned to Koshien Stadium for the weekend. They were greeted by a hungry Carp team that feasted on struggling (and now farmed) pitcher Koyo Aoyagi. Though the team brought that game to a tie at the mid-way point, the bullpen pitchers had an uncharacteristically rough game, and the team’s season-high 7-game win streak came to an end. But the rest of the weekend was all about our pitchers flexing their collective muscles. Just one run – unearned, at that – in the final 18 innings of action! With that, the team finds itself 11 games above .500! Play resumes on Tuesday in Tokyo against the fifth-place (!) Yakult Swallows.
