Coming off the all-star break, which was not much of a break for our main players (who pretty much all got voted to the team), the team needed to build some momentum. After all, a six-game home stand next week marks the end of Tigers baseball at Koshien Stadium for nearly a whole month, as the national high school baseball tournament takes over the hallowed grounds. The Tigers got some great news in the quick return of Koji Chikamoto (fractured ribs), who missed just 11 games. He did not collect a hit in this two-game set, but his defense made a difference in the second game. The team needs to go at least 4-2 this coming week in order to keep pace with the surging Hiroshima Carp, whom they face next weekend.
