The Hiroshima Carp entered this series on a 10-game winning streak. Because of this, the Tigers found themselves on the outside looking in for just the second time since May. And just like last time, the team that took over first only stayed there for one game. Starting pitching held the Carp to a minimum number of runs, and the bullpen held strong, which was a must, given the Carp’s recent tendency to come from behind and win against their opponents. And so, thanks to taking 2.5 out of 3 in this set, the Tigers finish their week at Koshien with a 4-1-1 mark, and head off to the road for most of August while the boys of summer take over Koshien Stadium. Way to go, guys! Keep up the great baseball away from home, too!
