If you have read any of my series recaps over the past 8 years, you know what I’m going to say. I’m a broken record when it comes to this because it’s such a solid fact: the Hanshin Tigers do not score many runs or win many games in Nagoya at the Dome. Well after Tuesday, it looked like they were going to shatter both of those unbreakable “truths” but Wednesday saw them go back to the low-scoring Vantelin Dome-fearing team that we all know too well. Fortunately, Hiroto Saiki hung tough and the bullpen pitched well enough for a single run to be the difference in the Tigers’ 15th shutout win of the year. Hiroshima walked off back-to-back games, and remain 7.5 back… but the magic number has been reduced to 13!
