The Tigers are historically a bad team against the Giants. Through the end of the 2020 season, it was an 827-1086-71 (.432) mark. Fortunately, the Tigers have started chipping away at that deficit in the last three years. Two years ago, it was 13-9-3 in our favor. Last year, once again there was a four-game gap – 14-10-1 for us. But THIS year, one wonders just what happened. Heading into the series, the Tigers were up 17-5-1, and just one more win would set a new franchise record for single-season wins against the arch-nemesis. Thanks to a clutch hit late in Wednesday’s game, we got it! And… well, Thursday’s game was all Giants until the last inning. The tying run came up to bat, but alas, the comeback fell short. Still, GREAT season against the orangemen, Tigers! Let’s do it again next year!
