This Tigers team has played so many games in the rain in recent weeks, it is hard to remember what they look like when they are dry. They have been resilient, though. On Tuesday, they scored a run in the sixth and the bullpen held on tight in the game’s final four innings – the Baystars had chances aplenty – for a tie. Then on Wednesday, Masashi Itoh took a no-hitter into the seventh rainy inning of the game, gave up three runs (two earned), and the game looked like a dud. Despite the continued hard rains, the bats (and the eyes that controlled the bats) put on a show for those who stayed in the stands until the end. The end result? The Tigers win and stay in first place! Thursday is a day off, and they will host the Swallows over the weekend!
