After winning the Koshien opener against the Hiroshima Carp on April 9, the Tigers dropped two in a row to the red helmets. So it was only fair that we went into their barn and left their fans feeling ripped off. Monday’s game was rained out, but Tuesday saw the Tigers bats come to life and Shoki Murakami pitch perfectly (other than the first ball he threw, which made its way into the stands. Then on Wednesday, we got to watch a 4-hour, 40-minute marathon tie. The Tigers probably had fewer chances than the Carp, what with them leaving 15 runners on the basepaths. With that being the case, a tie is just fine by me! Thursday is a day off, then it’s off to Tokyo to hopefully exert some revenge on the Giants!
